You received an iMessage (or SMS) on your iPad or iPhone but you choose to ignore it for the moment as you are probably working on something else. About 2 minutes later, you hear another alert from your iPad or iPhone, thinking that it is another message that just came in but when you look at your iPad or iPhone, you realised that there is only one message. Why is it so and how to get rid of this?
It’s A Default Setting
Apple has by default set your iPad and iPhone Messages Notification Settings to Enable Double Alerts. This can be a bit annoying for people like myself who are used to receiving single alert on each event that occur, such as receiving new emails and new messages. Double alerts will somehow confused me in determining if I now have one or two unread messages when I am not within the reach of my devices. Luckily, it takes only 5 simple steps to disable this default setting.
How To Disable Messages Double Alerts?
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Notifications.
- Tap Messages.
- Scroll down and tap ‘Repeat Alert’.
- Tap Never.
And that’s it. You have successfully disabled the default Messages Double Alerts on your iPad and iPhone.
