We got an iPad Mini today from a friend who live and work in Singapore. It is a Black 32GB Wi-Fi only model which cost us SGD578 or about RM1450. Without wasting time, we did a video of the unboxing process as well as a quick overview of using the iPad Mini to do some basic tasks such as web browsing, photo taking and Siri testing. The iPad Mini unboxing was done in Malaysia.

Full iPad Experience on a Smaller and Lighter Device
If anyone doubt this device is just a blown up iPod Touch, its not. It’s definitely an iPad, but on a smaller screen, thinner and lighter iPad. Being an iPad user for more than 2 years now, I immediately had a very familiar iPad experience when using it.
The Screen is Not That Bad
I have always thought that the major letdown of the iPad Mini is the non-Retina Display screen. But hey, it isn’t as bad as i thought. Somehow the display quality on the iPad Mini feels better than my first generation iPad. But of course, you can tell it’s not a Retina Display. If anyone doubt the display quality of the iPad Mini, wait until you use one. The display quality is as good as you need it to be.
Hold Comfortably with One Hand
One special thing I noticed when trying out the iPad Mini – I don’t feel the weight burden of the device while holding it for an extended period of time even with one hand. The light and thin device makes holding the iPad Mini very comfortable compared to the full sized 9.7″ iPad. I no longer have the natural call to hold the iPad with both hands for safe handling anymore.
If you ask me to summarise my feeling about the iPad Mini in one sentence, I will say “Get one, You’ll Love It”.
Coming up next, our very own review of the iPad Mini. Stay tuned.
